Oerlikon Thailand Celebrates 20 Years of Excellence in Surface Solutions

Chonburi, Thailand, 23 June 2025 — Oerlikon proudly marked a major milestone as its coating center in Thailand celebrated 20 years of delivering innovation, precision, and world-class service in surface solutions. The anniversary event underscored Oerlikon’s commitment to advancing technologies across industries, with a special focus on local-to-local PVD coating service for tools and components as well as global-to-local offerings such as PVD and thermal spray equipment, additive manufacturing and materials.

A key highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of a new PVD coatings lane dedicated to the aerospace market segment. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Dr. Sumeet Gupta, Oerlikon’s Regional President APAC, and Mr. Pravin Shirse, Country President India & SEA Countries, alongside Mr. Conradin Rasi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangkok. The presence of aerospace customers at the inauguration reflected the growing trust and collaboration between Oerlikon and its partners in the region.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Gopinath Chikathor, Director Sales & Operations Thailand, followed by inspiring addresses from Dr. Sumeet Gupta and Mr. Pravin Shirse. Customers were also invited to share their experiences, many of whom spoke about the value and reliability of Oerlikon’s solutions. A colorful cultural performance by a local dance troupe added a festive flair to the celebration, and the evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Michel Maeusli, Director Sales & Operations Vietnam and Regional Lead Service Tools APAC and a celebratory cocktail dinner.

More than 250 customers from diverse sectors – including automotive, electronics, general industries, oil and gas, semiconductors, and medical – joined the celebration. Their participation and testimonials highlighted the enduring partnerships and mutual success built over two decades.
