 Overload protector

The Sankyo torque limiter is a safety device designed to protect mechanical equipment from overloads. When an excessive torque load occurs, the torque limiter trips or, shuts off the transmission of torque to protect the machine. The protection provided could mean avoiding personal injury or secondary disasters.
Sankyo's design follows the separation principle, commonly regarded as the most reliable principle available. The torque tripping mechanism is based on the mechanical transmission of torque formed by a ball and ball pocket, or a roller and roller pocket combination. This mechanism ensures accurate torque shut-off and easy trip-point adjustment without degrading performance of the equipment to which it is installed.
The cam used in an automated machine is undoubtedly the core component of that machine. For that reason, the following conditions must be met;

● Easy return to origin after an overload (one-point setting position)
● Accurate torque transmission
● No backlash and rigidity
● Ability to detect an overload.

This safety device works only against overloads in the direction of rotation. It has many features in a compact body, such as accurate torque transfer and trip point, no backlash, and ease of use. The flange surface allows for easy mounting of tables, gears, and sprockets. Precision machined to ensure accuracy, safe rotation transfer, and longevity.

Trip torque 2 to 600 N・m  Ideal for frequent torque activation.
The TNF Series is based on the TF Series but is designed for frequent repetitive tripping action. It has a low internal hysteresis loss for precise tripping torque.

Trip torque 40 to 5,500 N・m   SANDEX α Series
This overload protection device was developed to be used on the output table of the SANDEX α Series. It has a large diameter hollow bore that allows use of the fixed shaft in the center of the α Series. It is also suitable as a safety device for the output table on an assembly chassis.

Rotary Coupling Type

This TorqueLimiter is designed to be used between two shafts for protection against overloads only in the rotating direction. It offers excellent rigidity in the rotating direction. It also serves as a coupling by absorbing misalignment between two clamping elements.

The TR Series builds on the TC Series by adding a release function and high-speed performance features. It is designed to be used primarily as a safety coupling between a servomotor and ball screw. The TR Series boasts a recovery accuracy within ±60 seconds to protect machines from overloads without compromising accuracy or performance. This accuracy also simplifies the assembly process.

Linear Types

•LM Series

Trip torque 5 to 120 N  High resetting accuracy
The LM Series is a compact, quick response, safety device that shuts off when an overload occurs in the linear direction. This type of protection is not available with rotary safety protection devices. It is designed to be mounted as an option on the output of the SANDEX Parts Handler GY Series to protect the output during handling work.
