2-stroke Engine / Bush cutter

Small and lightweight 20cc type is installed in bush cutters which are sold at hardware stores in Japan for small-build Japanese people. Larger 42cc and 50cc types are installed in mowers sold in overseas countries for larger-build foreigners. MARUYAMA's 2-stroke engines and bush cutters are highly esteemed as products that withstand harsh conditions in overseas countries. Excellent performance, high quality, and long-tern durability are the key selling points.

What is 2-stroke engine?

It is a very convenient engine that is lightweight and durable, and can be used upside down. MARUYAMA uses 2-stroke engines mainly in bush cutters and knapsack style engine sprayers. It is powered by a crank turned by internal combustion of mixed gasoline in the engine. The crankshaft rotates once with two strokes, hence it is called 2-stroke engine.

Production process for bush cutters

► Our Thai factory produces 20cc, 23cc, 26cc, 36cc,42cc and 50cc, 2-stroke engines.

Some 2-stroke engine makers have all parts of their products manufactured by external factories, whereas MARUYAMA manufactures the key parts internally in order to maintain product quality. Further, we apply strict quality standards to the assembly process and our engineers produce each one of our products with extreme care.

1. Machining

We have introduced a machining center and started integrated manufacturing internally from procurement of materials, machining, and assembly. (FANUC ROBODRILL / a-D21LiB x 2)

2. Engine Assembly

We have achieved KAIZEN to improve efficiency by implementing SUB-ASSY before the assembly process.

The production line is set up and our products are assembled through 15 processes.

In the 1st process , the cylinder, rotor, ignition plug, ignition coil, clutch and starter pulley are assembled.

Next, the carburetor, insulator, fan cover, under cover and muffler are installed.

Then, the recoil starter, top cover and fuel tank are installed.

The testing room has a temperature and humidity control and conducts a drive assessment test, such as a pulse test (engine speed).

Lastly, accessories such as the air cleaner and label are attached to become an accepted product.

3. Shaft Assembly

SUB-ASSY of the lever in a bush cutter.

SUB-ASSY to install the transmission shaft.

Assembly process of the clutch drum, bracket, solenoid and various seals.

Performance testing, such as rotation speed and vibration measurement followed by labeling.

Assembly of the engine and shaft.

Four sets of the operating manual (in four languages) are packed with the product.
