Blackening

 

 Melblack BR-1560(Blackening for plating of copper alloy)

 

Melblack BR-1560 is a black oxide for copper and copper alloy (containing 65 - 90% of copper).

Although Melblack BR-1560 can black oxide by itself, it is more effective to use Melblack BR-1560 as the activating agent in advance of blackening process for low copper content alloy such as brass with Melblack CU-1565.

Black oxide coatings are crystal of the fine velvet copper oxide and excel as base of painting and paintwork of high adhesion is obtained.

 ● Tank : Use steel, stainless or titanium tank. Do not use soldered steel.

 ● Heater : Gas, Stainless corrugated tub. Gas heating is usually the most economical.

 Melblack CU-1565(Blackening for copper and copper alloy)

 

Black oxide coatings are black color, chemically stable and can tolerate high temperature of 200℃.

Melblack CU-1565 produces copper oxide coating. Corrosion resistance and adhesion are excellent compared with sulfuration or Nickel treatment.

Black oxide coatings are crystal of the fine velvet copper oxide and excel as base of painting and paintwork of high adhesion is obtained.

 Melblack S-1531(Blackening Process for Steel)

 

Easily produces a beautiful glossy black film compared to general blackening agents.

Excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance.

Produces 1.5 to 2.5 µm thick oxide film.

Do not contact Melblack S-1531 to metal other than steel and stainless.

 ● Others  : All racks and baskets must be made of welded steel. Don’t use brass and soldered steel.

 Melblack SS-1540(Blackening process for stainless steel and high alloy steel)

 

Melblack SS-1540 produces shiny black coatings on steel.

The dimensional changes involved in blackening are less than 0.3 μm. The thickness of the black oxide coating ranges from 1.5 to 2.5μm.

Don’t contact Melblack SS-1540 to metal other than steel and stainless steel.

 ● Others  : All racks and baskets must be made of welded steel. Do not use soldered steel. Copper alloy dissolve in Melblack SS-1540 bath and dissolved copper cause smut.
