This is a contact-type semi-automatic inspection system that clamps a workpiece between the top and bottom set of Keyence GT2 (contact-type displacement sensor) and measures the inside groove, notch, and spot-welded bracket height of a thin pipe.

Originally, human judgment was made using a drop gauge, but it is extremely difficult to continue inspecting micron units quickly and accurately.

By automating only the measurement while the loading and unloading of the workpiece is performed by a human operator, human error is eliminated, which not only reduces the workload of the operator, but also improves the reliability of the measurement data.

Precision Shaft O.D. Inspection Machine

Two-point O.D. measurement + Single-point O.D. measuring instrument

This product must guarantee an outside diameter of 3.175-3.180 mm (tolerance range 5 microns).

A shaft falling from a carrier is measured at two points by pressing a plate contactor against it while sliding the shaft. The shaft is checked for taper at the tip and at the two end points to determine if it is good or bad.

3-point O.D. measuring machine

Adoption of Keyence laser sensor enables sub-micron measurement

The shaft being measured is a long shaft of 4 mm diameter, but the tolerance range of 3.987-3.992 mm must be guaranteed. It is made of SWRH62A, a hard steel wire material, and is subject to heat treatment, which causes runout, bends, and variations in outside diameter, making it a difficult product.

The laser captures the shaft as it passes through the V-block and measures three points: the top, middle, and end of the workpiece.

By employing a Keyence laser sensor, measurements can be made with sub-micron accuracy, enabling outer diameter inspections with a range tolerance of 4 to 5 microns.

5-point measuring instrument for precision shafts over φ8 mm O.D.

The shafts of blower motors used for air conditioning and battery cooling in vehicles, must be guaranteed to have an outside diameter tolerance of 6 microns. The shaft must guarantee an outside diameter tolerance of 6 microns. Because of its large diameter and relatively long length, it is difficult to control runout and taper over its entire length.

Once this type of defect is released, a huge amount of labor and cost is incurred in the sorting process, We have introduced this sorting system in order to handle this sorting process correctly and as early as possible within the company.
